JURASSIC PARK
THE RIDE

JAPAN | AMUSEMENT PARK

Project Control provided assistance with the planning & scheduling of the 16-month refurbishment to Jurassic Park: The Ride at Universal Studios Japan.

The Ride reopened on January 8th 2025 following a closure that began in September 2023.
USJ made many major updates to the dinosaurs, ride system, and other effects. The park intends to keep it a secret until the ride is reopened to the public.

SUPER NINTENDO WORLD

We assisted Universal Studios Japan to create Super Nintendo World that is based on notable video game franchises from Nintendo, such as Super Mario.

At Universal Studios Japan, Super Nintendo World is wedged in at the northern end of the park, west of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  Guests enter the park through a warp pipe from an entrance plaza, leading into Princess Peach's Castle.  When guests exit the castle they enter the 2 level courtyard on the 2nd floor, immersed in the Mushroom Kingdom with Bowser's castle across the area.

DISNEY WORLD RESORT CASTLE

We assisted Disney with planning the construction of the Enchanted Storybook Castle in Shanghai.  It is the largest and tallest Disney castle ever built, housing a walk-through attraction, a restaurant, a makeover boutique, an elaborate stage, and a boat ride underneath the main level. 

After the success of the Harry Potter Expansion Project (Japan), we were asked to assist the team at Disney in Shanghai China in the re-baselining of their Master Project Schedule.

Key achievements:
  • Primavera P6
  • Developed the Topping Off schedule for Disney's biggest castle, which had to determine the most likely date for a major ceremony and announcement about the park.
  • Created 4D BIM animation with Disney's Synchro expert to illustrate the build.
  • Established a detailed schedule for the logistically challenging Water Ride in the centre of the park.
  • Began the process of streamlining a WBS adoption across all schedules, with a particular focus on parkwide themed facades and rework.
  • Determined realistic completion dates for key areas of the park.

HARRY POTTER WORLD

We assisted Universal Studios Japan with planning the construction of the New Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Osaka, Japan. The construction was completed 6 months earlier than the same park in Orlando, USA.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Japan is a magnificent area reproducing the world from the Harry Potter stories on an overwhelming scale and with meticulous attention to detail.
